Home Security Tips

1. Install an Alarm System

Of course having an alarm system is number one on our list. It is a proven fact that criminals avoid homes that have professionally installed alarm systems. The same study also proved that the more houses with these kind of alarm systems, were safer neighborhoods overall.

2. Be Aware of Garage Security

Make sure your garage windows are either frosted or covered so that strangers cannot see in. People are less likely to try and break in when they have no idea what is inside.

3. Invest in Security Lighting

Lighting up your house is never a bad idea when it comes to security. Do this with motion sensor lights that will illuminate any intruders.

4. Be Mindful of Your Shrubs

Make sure that your shrubbery is tall enough to create a barrier, but also short enough so that an intruder cannot hide in them. Use them to your advantage.

5. Home Security Signs

By having these signs placed around your house, you are letting an intruder know that you have an active alarm system and security system in place.

6. Extra Keys

DO NOT leave extra keys under door mats, potted plants or any other obvious outdoor location. These are the first places an intruder will look for your spare keys. If you must have a spare key somewhere, find a very inconspicuous place or either give it to a trusted neighbor.

These are just a few simple things you can do to make sure your home stays safe. If you are in need of installing an alarm system or outdoor lighting, give us a call today!
